Housing & Community complex

The complex

Worldschooling Bansko will be moving to a new location in 2026.

On the foot of the mountain, next to the forrest and some magnificent views, and only a 10 minutes drive from Bansko and 15 minutes from the gondola. There are lots of different spaces where we can meet with the community, a gym, play and game rooms for all ages, but mostly we love the pool and spa center that we can enjoy!
We think the new complex will be such a great fit to our program and we are so exited about it!

The community complex gives us the chance to intensify the community of Worldschooling Bansko. Families can rent an apartment in the community complex, and be in the heart of the community, where children can easily find each other and knock on each others doors to play, or walk themselves to the activities. Parents can meet each other for a cup of coffee, and teens are safely able to hang out as late as parents allow them.

The apartments

The community complex has a number of different apartments available, in different sizes, to suit the different family sizes. This allows you to have your private time while being in the heart of the community.

Each apartment has its own private bathroom and a kitchen equipped with an oven and a large fridge/freezer. Each apartment is different in its setup, layout and equipment. There are shared washing machines in the building, available for a small fee of €10* per wash/dry. All utilities are included. Weekly cleaning with linen change is included. The complex is currently upgrading to high-speed internet throughout the building.

There seems to be enough studios, 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom apartments to suit our group. Only a few chalets are available. If demand exceeds availability, priority will be given to larger families.

Pool and Spa center

The complex has a pool, and a spa area with facilities like a jacuzzi, sauna, steam bath and massage options. It’s the perfect place to warm up and relax after a day in the snow. A place for kids to enjoy the water together, while parents unwind and connect with each other in the sauna.

Gym, play and game areas

The complex offers several options for movement and play. There’s a fully equipped gym for those who want to work out, a game area with table tennis, foosball and a pool table, and an indoor play area for younger children. Outside, there’s also a playground where kids can play together and get their energy out.

Coworking space

In the complex is a bright coworking space that will be open 24/7. It offers a lounge area, a meeting area and excellent internet, ideal for those who need to work remotely. There is also a small kitchenette to make coffee or grab a drink. A calm and focused environment to work without distractions.

Restaurant and food options

The complex offers an on-site restaurant where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner. On busier days meals are served as a buffet, while on quieter days you can order from the menu. There’s also a lobby bar for coffee or a drink, and a small minimarket just around the corner with a selection of everyday essentials.

Shuttle service

The complex offers a free shuttle to the centre of Bansko and the gondola, running every hour between 8.00 and 16.30. It’s not essential to have a car, but renting one gives more comfort and flexibility, which makes it our recommended option. Especially since car rentals start as low as €200*-€300* per month.
Things to be aware of:
– Bansko is a developing town in a non-Western country, which can be a culture shock for some. The town may come across as rough or unfinished as a first impression.
– The apartments in Bansko are originally designed for short term stays and built to local standards. Small defects can occur, and whether they are fixed depends on the management. We chose this complex not only for its facilities but also for the quality of its management. We are very happy with both, but please keep in mind that this is still Bulgaria and set your expectations accordingly.
